Three things, and they are why it exists.
There is also a difference in who pays. Many apps in this category are free because they carry ads or disclose that they share data for advertising. moppet is paid, so you are the customer.
No, and moppet assumes you will not. There is no streak, no completeness score, and nothing that scolds you for a gap. Log what is useful now: usually feeds and diapers early on, maybe solids and sleep later. You can hide the entry types you never use so the logging sheet only shows what you actually tap.
No. Not yet, and not by accident. The screen you open shows what happened last, what is happening now, and what is likely next, which is what you need when someone is crying. If we add charts they will be somewhere you choose to go, rather than the first thing you see.
It gives you a likely window rather than a promise. moppet starts from the cadence published for your child's age by the health body where they are: the AAP in the US, the NHS in the UK, the WHO elsewhere. Then it learns your own child's rhythm from what you log, the typical gaps between feeds and naps, days kept separate from nights.
Naps work differently from feeds. They are counted from when your child last woke up plus the wake window for their age, which widens from under an hour for a newborn to several hours by the time they are two.
When logging is patchy it leans on the published cadence rather than guessing from the gaps it can see, because a feed that happened but never got logged would otherwise look like a longer gap than it was. So the window stays sensible on a chaotic day, and gets sharper as your own pattern becomes clearer. Treat it as a nudge, never as a schedule to hold your child to.
How “Next” works goes through the whole thing if you want it.
You can record weight, length and head measurements, and read them back at an appointment. moppet does not plot percentile curves. Your pediatrician does that, with a properly calibrated scale.
No. Export a CSV from your old app and moppet will read it in, keeping the times, the notes and who logged what. If it does not recognize the file's layout it will work out the columns and show you a preview before anything is added. Running it twice will not duplicate entries.
One subscription covers the whole household, every caregiver and every child. It is not charged per person. Reading your history, downloading a copy and deleting your account are always free, whether you are paying or not. Billing questions are on the support page.

Android is coming. moppet is an iPhone app today, and there is a browser version at mymoppet.com/app that works on any phone or computer and shows the same record, so an Android caregiver in your household is not locked out in the meantime.
A running nursing or sleep timer shows on your watch, so you can glance at how long it has been without picking up your phone. Starting, pausing and stopping from the watch itself is coming. You can already do all three from your iPhone's lock screen without unlocking it.
Yes. Each child has their own record and their own settings, and you switch between them by tapping a name at the top of the screen. One subscription covers all of them.
Yes. Pump sessions have their own timer and are recorded separately from bottles, so what you expressed and what your child drank stay distinct. Bottles can be marked as breastmilk or formula, so a household doing a mix of both is not fighting the app.
Yes, and it is the thing two caregivers most often lose track of. Type the instruction from the label or your pediatrician, or photograph the label, and moppet lays out every dose time in the course and shares it with the household. Everyone with reminders on is told when one is due, and each dose is marked given, skipped or snoozed. A dose marked given lands on the timeline with whoever gave it, so nobody has to text to find out whether it has been done.
moppet only organizes what you enter. It will not infer a dose or a frequency you did not give it. The guide walks through setting one up.
The app changes with them. What it suggests logging shifts as your child gets older, and the entry types you no longer need can be hidden. Feeds and diapers matter in the early weeks. Solids, sleep and the occasional medicine matter later.
You share an invite code from Settings. They install moppet, choose "Join with a code", and land in the same household. The code changes each time someone joins or is removed, so an old one cannot be reused.
No. One subscription covers the household, and only one person pays for it. If the subscription lapses, whoever opens the app next is shown how to restart it.
Yes. Caregivers have a role. A viewer can read the record but not change it, which is the usual choice for a grandparent who wants to follow along. A caregiver can log and edit, which is right for a nanny or a night nurse. A parent can also manage people.
Yes. When your partner logs a bottle it appears on your screen, and a timer they start shows as running on yours. That is the point of the app: you should not have to text someone to find out whether your child has eaten.
You will see both entries, and you tap one and delete it. moppet does not silently merge them, because guessing which of two real entries was a mistake is not something an app should do behind your back.
Remove them and their access ends immediately, on every device they were signed in on. What they logged stays in the record, because it is your child's history, not theirs.
That is the case it was designed around. After dark moppet switches by itself to a stripped-back screen: one line telling you where things stand, and a few large buttons for the things you actually do at night. Less light, less to read, and less chance of tapping the wrong thing while holding a baby.
A reminder arrives when something looks genuinely overdue for your child, not on a fixed timer, and you get one nudge per event rather than a stream. You pick which kinds you want: feeds, naps, diapers, medication. Those are your settings, not the household's. If you change the diapers and your partner does the feeds, you each get the ones you are responsible for. You can also turn them all off and the app still works.
moppet also goes quiet by itself. It stops nudging when nobody has logged anything for a day, and it stops each kind of reminder at the age it stops making sense: feeds around 18 months to two years depending on the guidance where you are, naps around five, and diapers around three and a half, or four in the UK.
Both are normal and both are fixable. You can back-date the start of a timer, log a feed or a nap that already finished, and tap any entry in the timeline to correct its time, its details or its note. An approximate log you fix later beats one you never made.
You can keep logging with no signal. Entries are held on your phone and sent the next time you are connected, and the app tells you how many are waiting. Seeing what another caregiver just logged does need a connection.
Twenty, and each caregiver chooses their own. Your choice follows you across devices and changes nothing for anyone else in the household.
Some are still waiting on a review by a native speaker, and Slovenian is marked "beta" in the app to say so. Tell us if something reads wrong in yours.
That is the case moppet was built for. Everyone reads the app in their own language, including the reminders, which arrive in the language and clock format of whoever receives them.
The notes caregivers write are translated between them too: a note written in Spanish is offered to an English reader in English, with the original one tap away. Same note, same timeline. Note translation covers all twenty: English, Spanish, German, Danish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Slovenian, Indonesian, Turkish, Russian, Swedish, Norwegian, Romanian, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Swahili, Yoruba and Igbo. It runs on demand and the result is cached, so a note is translated once and never again. What it will not do is translate a note as you type it: you write in your own language, and the reading is what gets translated.
Yes. Units (oz and °F, or ml and °C) and the clock (12 or 24 hour) are per person, not per household. A nanny on a 24-hour clock and parents on a 12-hour one each read the same entries their own way, reminders included.
The caregivers you invited, and nobody else. It is enforced on our servers, not just hidden in the app, and it ends the moment you remove someone.
In Europe. Your household's records live on servers in Frankfurt, under European data-protection law, whichever country you are in. We chose that deliberately for a product holding this kind of information about a child.
No ads, ever. We never sell your data, and we do not let outside companies track you inside moppet. You pay for the app, which is exactly why your family does not have to be the product.
No. Three features send something out when you use them, and only then: translating a caregiver's note, reading a medication instruction you typed or a photo of a label you took, and working out the columns if you import a file from an app moppet does not recognize. None of it is used to train anyone's models. What you log is never sent anywhere to make a prediction: the “Next” line is worked out where your record already lives.
Four more things leave the app, and none of them is care data you typed. A reminder has to travel through Expo and Apple to reach your phone, so it carries your child's first name, or for a medication reminder the medicine and the dose. The alert that another caregiver stopped a timer goes the same route, carrying their name and the times the timer covered, and Settings has a switch for that one. If the app hits a fault it sends us a crash report, which carries no care data, no name and nothing tied to your account. And if you subscribe, Apple takes the payment and RevenueCat records whether your subscription is active, neither of them ever seeing your child's record. The privacy policy names every company involved and what each one receives.
No, and nothing is ever deleted because a subscription ended. Your household keeps full read access to everything already logged, plus the CSV download, and only adding new entries pauses.
Yes, and it is always free. Export gives you a spreadsheet of every entry for the child you are looking at, which opens in Excel or Numbers. No lock-in: it is the same kind of file you would use to move to another app, and we are not going to make that hard for you.
From Settings › Account › Delete account. If you are the only member of your household, it and every entry in it are permanently deleted. If others share it, your account goes and the shared record stays with them. Export first if you want a copy.
No. moppet is a shared record of your child's care. moppet is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, not a monitor, and not an emergency service. For any medical question, ask your pediatrician. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
One thing comes close enough to be worth naming. For acetaminophen and ibuprofen, moppet can show you the row from the published chart for your child's weight, so you are not squinting at the box in the dark. It copies out a printed row and works nothing out for itself, you still have to confirm it, and it refuses and sends you to your pediatrician whenever the chart does not clearly cover your child. Which chart you get depends on where your child is, and in most of the world there is no chart, so moppet defers to your bottle. The guide sets out exactly when it answers and when it refuses.
No. It shows you your child's own rhythm and tells you when something looks overdue. It has no opinion about how you should be parenting, and there is no course to buy.
No, and it does not try to. It notices a few practical things, like a long stretch with no wet diaper logged, and says so plainly: what it noticed, then what to do, which is to ask your pediatrician, and to log the change if a diaper was changed but not logged. That is a nudge about your record, not an assessment of your child.
